Intense Battles on the Field

With MSC Mavens lying 5th on the Super League Womens (SLW) Standings, a daunting task lie ahead in the form of back-to-back matches, in a space of 16hrs, with 2 of the top 3 teams in the SLW. The Mavens understood their assingment and put some effort into it, however they narrowly lost to the current league leaders Sliders Hockey with a 1-0 result before delivering on a similar result against debutants Kisumu Queens.
MSC Mavens results, pushed them to the Top 3 teams, albeit on goal difference a performance they will relish as they await the return leg of the league leaders in MSC Grounds on the 12th of August.
“The performance and results demonstrated their resilience and determination to be one of the top contenders for the Super League title.”
Throughout the two match days, standout performances were seen from several players. Mombasa Sports Club’s top scorer, Marygeorgeen Simiyu, displayed her prowess infront of goal, putting immense pressure on the opponents’ defense. On the other end of the field, the team’s last lady, Prudence Naima, showcased her experience and saved several crucial shots on goal.
Meanwhile, a key cog in the Mavens midfield, Dotty Grace, sprained her ankle and we believe she will be back in time for the return leg in Mombasa. We wish her a quick recovery.

As the season progresses, the anticipation for the next match is growing. The two thrilling encounters between MSC Mavens and their opponents, Sliders and Kisumu Queens, showcasing the true spirit of field hockey and were a testament to the players’ dedication, passion, and love for the sport.
